The Yikzor service, a cherished holiday tradition, strengthens the connection between our departed loved ones and ourselves. It also brings merit to their souls, elevating them in their celestial home.

In addition to the memorial prayer, Yizkor includes a pledge to give charity in honor of the deceased (after the holiday). Giving charity is a physical act, a positive deed, which our departed can no longer fulfill.

Children in this world are an extension of their parents in the next world. When one commits to give charity in the memory of their loved ones, it brings great pleasure and blessings to their souls. We become representative of our loved ones in this world and unite with them in the act of supporting worthy causes.
