Sundays, 10:30-11:30 AM Explore the facets of Jewish prayer: the history, structure, purpose and meaning. The Siddur (prayer book) can be a confusing book. Our daily prayers evolved over time, creating a towering structure that can feel like the Tower of Babel but is meant to be the stairway to heaven. At the core lies the biblically-mandated Shema and the rabbinically composed Amidah, but over time many other elements entered and were integrated into our prayers. These unique contributions are seen and felt on the pages of our siddur. It is not always apparent how they all come together in a unified spiritual service. But they do. Every prayer has a meaning of its own that adds to the total impact of the prayers on us and the world around us. Join us every week after morning prayers as we deconstruct and reassemble our prayers, adding meaning and emotions, wings and spirit to our words. No Charge. Location & directions when you register.
